How to Speed Up Torrents

Here you will learn how to speed up torrents downloading, how to configure uTorrent and how to speed up torrents with low seeders. However, make sure that your computer is working well and better to have a fast internet connection. And don't download illegal torrents.

I recommend uTorrent as the Bit Torrent Client because it's simple & fast. Some people recommend Azureus as it has an in-build torrent search engine & some other fetures. However, it is a java application and increases memory usage. So uTorrent is faster than it. So download & install the latest stable version of uTorrent.

Many ISPs blocks or limit the speed of some common ports. So choose a port from 49152–65534 range. If you use a router or a hardware firewall, make sure it has been forwarded properly.

• Test your connection speed (both upload & download speeds)
  
• Go to Option > Speed Guide
• Select your upload speed & the port chosen in 2nd step

But some settings should be changed manually. So follow the steps below.

• Go to Option > Preferences > Bandwidth
• Set Maximum upload rate to (upload speed * 40%)
• Set Maximum download rate to (download speed * 90%)
• Set Global maximum number of connections to 800
• Set Maximum number of connected peers per torrent to 125
• Do NOT change any other options here

• Go to Option > Preferences > Connection
• Uncheck both Enable UPnP port mapping & Randomize port each start
• Check both Enable NAT-PMP port mapping & Add Windows Firewall exception
• Do NOT change any other options here.

• Go to Option > Preferences > BitTorrent
• Make sure following options are checked

1. Enable DHT Network
2. Enable DHT for new torrents
3. Enable Local Peer Discovery
4. Ask tracker for scrape information
   
5. Enable Peer Exchange

• but Limit local peer bandwidth must be unchecked
• Change Outgoing: to Forced & Check Allow incomming legacy connections under Protocol Encryption
• Do NOT change any other options here

• Go to Option > Preferences > Queuing
  
• Change default values under Seed While to '100%' and '0min'
• Do NOT change any other options here

• Go to Option > Preferences > Advanced
• Set net.max_halfopen to 500
• Set net.outgoing_port to 50
• Set net.wsaevents to 150
• Do NOT change any other options here

Then Close uTorrent after changing these all setting.

• Download and run this patch, EvID4226Patch223d-en.zip
• It will hack the TCP connections limit in Windows

• Download and run this, TCPOptimizer.exe
• Choose your connection speed & select optimal settings
• Then click Apply Changes. You may have to restart the computer.

Here is how to download your torrents fast even if it has low seeders. Do NOT start downloading, once you add a torrent to uTorrent

• Right click on the torrent from uTorrent and click Properties
• Here is a list of popular torrent trackers. So add these trackers to trackers list. This can NOT be used with private torrents
• Just copy & paste this list of torrent trackers in Properties dialog.
